Maryland’s Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 requires commercial and industrial buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
As part of their effort to achieve net-zero emissions by the year 2040, the Maryland Department of the Environment is required to keep track of the energy usage of larger buildings.
Key Requirements:
Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) Assistance: Customers of Chesapeake Utilities who own or operate a facility that is 35,000 square feet or larger can request monthly energy usage data to comply with Maryland’s Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS).
